My Walk Is Mean

Shoe Fact #124: You can never have too many shoes

The shoe lines this year surprised me with excitement. But there was one designer who stood out over all. Guiseppe Zanotti.  All the colors, patterns and crazy sculptured heels surely took me into a spiral of orgasmic bliss. All of a sudden I started thinking of a second job just to support my addiction. My boyfriend hears all my squeals, comes over and taps my shoulder..."no."  Why is he hindering my creative process? Oh well, I must just cut the pictures out and paste them all over the walls.

So to make sure that you all see everything I have been drooling over....

Zanotti, in my eyes, has reached out to every female there is in his collection. Nicki Minaj was already seen in two pairs of his wonderful shoes. Peep-toe, sling backs, bold colors, fabulous prints...THE WERKS!!!
You can shop Zanotti on www.zappos.com. They have the entire line.

And even though I am leaning strongly on Zanotti, the awesome Christian Louboutin never fails. These are my number 1's
Every woman should have these in their closet.

Full Court Press for Lala

Amazing strides have been made for Brownies all over the world this month in the cosmetic industry. She has given me a new reason to buy more cosmetics and at a reasonable price. Lala Anthony (wife of Carmelo) has partnered with Loren Ridinger (owner of Motives) to create Motives for Lala!!! It get no better than this. WAIT!! It does.

Lala's line, Beauty in Every Shade, was specifically manufactured for Women of Color. And guess what? It's all mineral makeup.  Down to the mascara. With prices ranging from $14.95 to $39.95 and receiving cash back on every purchase, it's a one stop shop for us gals.

I like the line because it was the first time ever in the history of foundations that I didn't have to mix my colors. That's right. I use the Mineral Dual Foundation in Medium and it worked wonders. It's dual because you can use it wet for a luminous look or dry for an everyday look. A little goes a long way and it also fills in the fine lines

Lala Anthony. From DJ, rapping on mixtapes with her cousin, underground artist Peedi Crakk to launching her own mineral makeup line. She is certainly my MVP of 2012.

To purchase Motives for Lala, it is being sold exclusively at www.moormakeup.com. Would you like to be apart of the Motives for Lala team? Please send emails to muaninamoor@gmail.com

One Last Soul Train Line.

I will never forget watching Crooklyn by Spike Lee.  All the kids in the movie were piled up on the bed. The black and white TV set was on and everyone was quiet. You could almost hear a pin drop.  And then "The Voice" said "everybody line up for the Soul Train Line." The kids in the movie (which represented Spike Lee's childhood) and I would get up and do the line dances as though we were gonna be the next big dancer found.  At the end Don Cornelius would say "we wish you love, peace and SOUL!!"

Today as we do our last twirls down the Soul Train Line, let's wish Don Cornelius the same.

A call was made from a neighbor who heard a gun shot and at 4am they found Mr. Cornelius with a self-inflicted gun shot wound.   "Before MTV, there was Soul Train," said by Quincy Jones, close friend and business partner.   Patti LaBelle stated that he was "simply a genius."

The birth of Soul Train, which was an African-American version of American Band Stand, allowed African-Americans to have fun, do something new and show off the latest dances and fashions of the 70's and rolling into the 90's.

This also gave a lot of African-American Stars a great way to showcase their talents.

To name a few:
Patti LaBelle
Luther Vandross
Nick Cannon
Toni Braxton
Aaliyah
Doug E. Fresh

My mom used to show me so many pictures of her hair like Diana's and her green pinto, lol.  She used to try and teach my siblings and I the dances, and we used to act like The Jacksons. Of course I could only be Janet or Michael.  Now it seems as if those bold patterns, bright colors and geometrical shapes have been gracing the houses of Cavalli, Giambattista and Versace.  Don Cornelius allowed Fashion and Dance to be the ultimate topic of discussion and for that I raise my fist up high.

LOVE, PEACE AND SOOOUULLLL!!!
